Description
Burmese Mountain Brown juveniles (Manouria emys emys)
The Burmese Brown Mountain Tortoise is native to rainforests and wet woodland regions of southern Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo.  Hatchlings and young tortoises should typically be housed indoors with elevated humidity, a warm area of about 85 degrees Fahrenheit and a cooler area of about 70 degrees.   Adults will need an outdoor space that provides for temperatures between the fifties and eighties including a housing area that is cooled and/or heated to provide protection from ambient temperature extremes.
